The Foundations Program acts as a resource for students in a number of ways.
In the Classroom….
Our classroom-based program in grades 3-12 features direct instruction of critical thinking, study skills, meta-cognition, and global thinking skills.
One-on-One….
We also offer the following support services for individual students.
The Center for Writing and Reasoning
Made possible through the support of a generous donor, the CFA Center for Writing and Reasoning serves students in grades 6-12. The Center is staffed full time by specially-trained CFA faculty members and offers students help with writing and study skills.
Foundations Program Consultations
Offered on a limited basis, these sessions provide students in grades 3-12 with guidance and direction in a particular academic or skill area. Students may set academic goals, reflect further on their learning styles, discuss alternative study strategies, and more. For those students who require ongoing support, the Learning Skills Program is the best option.
Learning Skills Program
For students who need additional assistance in a particular academic area or who require ongoing support with study skills or academic skill development, the Learning Skills Program offers highly-qualified, trained educators to act as tutors and academic coaches. The Learning Skills Program is a fee-based service available to students in grades K-12. |
