Cape Fear Academy athletics seeks to provide a program of instruction and competition through intramural and interscholastic events. Students in grades 7-12 may participate in basketball, cheerleading, cross country, field hockey, golf, lacrosse, soccer, softball, surfing, swimming, tennis and volleyball. Cape Fear Academy has a full-participation policy stating that every student who wishes to play any sport has an opportunity. Our program teaches not only skills, but also teamwork and sportsmanship. Athletics promotes the life-long importance of maintaining good health - physically, mentally, and emotionally. The Academy is governed in athletics through the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association, which offers opportunities for competition against other independent schools from across the state. We are members of the Cape Fear Independent Conference for all sports, insuring that the Academy maintains an athletic program of the highest quality.
