The LSSGA is a service organization which includes Lower School Students in third, fourth, and fifth grades.  It encourages these young students to develop leadership skills and to reach out to the community at large.  The School Store and the Bingo Bake Sale raise money for the following organizations: Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard, Good Shepherd Ministries, Fran’s Fans, The Yahweh Center, The NC Children’s Hospital, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, WARM (Wilmington Area Rebuilding Ministry) and the Humane Society.  In January of 2009, the LSSGA started a program to recycle the water bottles of the third, fourth, and fifth graders, and by the end of the school year, about 5500 bottles had been collected.  They plan to include all LS grades beginning in the fall of 2010.
