I am pleased to announce that Olga Nobleton has been appointed as the next Director of Enrollment at Cape Fear Academy. After a comprehensive search that attracted more than 25 candidates from across the nation, she stood out as the best person to lead our recruiting and retention efforts. The search committee was impressed by Nobleton’s appreciation for our mission and core values, as well as her quick grasp of the key issues that will impact CFA’s enrollment going forward.

Currently serving as Admissions Manager at the Atlanta International School, Nobleton brings to CFA extensive admissions experience, including strong relationship building, marketing, and communication skills. Everyone who met Nobleton during the search appreciated her commitment to lifelong learning, as well as her energy and collegial personality. She will assume her new responsibilities on July 1, 2023.

Nobleton spent her primary school years in her native Ukraine, moved to Germany for middle school, and Canada for her high school and college education. After earning her bachelor’s degree at Ontario College of Art & Design in Toronto, she moved to Atlanta to pursue her MBA, which she earned at American Intercontinental University. Once in Atlanta, Nobleton continued working in the non-profit sector as well as teaching at the German School of Atlanta before joining the admission team at Atlanta International School in 2012. In her own words:

"My first passion is education. I became very interested in this sector during my college years when I got the opportunity to intern at the Art Gallery of Ontario in their education department. This was my first professional experience working in an established setting with children and young adults while teaching them art techniques. The feeling of purpose in sharing my excitement for education and the arts with a younger generation really stuck with me and inspired me to explore this field as a profession. I have since taught in various settings and continue to enjoy working in a school, and I cannot wait to join the vibrant CFA Community and begin meeting everyone!"

Nobleton is a passionate advocate for education and fluent in German, Russian, Ukrainian, and English. In her spare time, she prefers to be outdoors with her family and their pets. "We are a family of nine: mom, dad, two girls and a baby boy, two dogs and two cats."

The process of selecting Nobleton was quite extensive and we would not have been as successful in finding such a great person to fill this critical role without the engagement and participation of so many members of the CFA Community who welcomed and interviewed a number of finalists over the course of several months. Moreover, I am extremely grateful for the time and effort of our search committee, especially Carla Whitwell and Alison Reid who served as Chairs. They committed countless hours during the course of this search, and I am glad that their hard work has landed us such a great new colleague.

Finally, I would be remiss if I did not recognize our current Director of Enrollment, Nelda Nutter, who has been such an incredible educational leader, colleague and friend to all of us at CFA. Often the first point of contact any new family has with the school, Nutter has been an amazing ambassador for us. Our current, robust enrollment is a testament to her and her team’s tireless work, efficiency and warmth in welcoming new families to CFA. Thankfully, it is not yet time to say farewell to her. In the months ahead we will be sure to celebrate and thank Nutter for all that she has done for us.

Sincerely,

Ed Ellison
