October 2022 CFA Family Partnership Update

Hello fellow Cape Fear Academy Families! Exciting things are happening with the Cape Fear Academy Family Partnership. Here are a few highlights of what has been happening this semester and ways you can help and volunteer.
  • On September 14 , we had our first Family Partnership night out at Lighthouse Beer and Wine. It was a very well attended event and provided a great opportunity for families to come out, catch up and have fun. The Family Partnership received 20% of sales from that day, so a huge thank you to Lighthouse Beer and Wine!

  • This is an auction year! We have a theme, Together Again, so watch for more information on this fun spring fundraiser which will take place on Friday, April 21, 2023.

  • The online spirit store is up and running. We believe that this is a great way for you to get your CFA gear. Anticipate more items being added as the store continues to grow. Visit the CFA Online Spirit Store.

  • Fall athletics are wrapping up at CFA and winter sports is about to gear up. The Family Partnership wants to thank all of the parents who volunteered to collect money for admissions and concessions. Winter sports are next and we continue to need volunteers for all sports. Even if your child isn’t playing but you want a way to get out and meet other CFA families, reach out and we can get you on the list to volunteer.

  • We’ve partnered with the school on two successful Blue and Gold Cookouts. These are a great way to come get free food, hang out, and catch a CFA team in action. As these events continue to grow, we will be seeking volunteers to help with these cookouts. I’ve worked with Mr. Fee on a couple of these, and I can personally tell you that they are a lot of fun.

As you can see, a lot of excitement is taking place around campus! Opportunities to volunteer with winter sports will be available soon, along with the chance to help with Grandparents and Special Friends Day scheduled for Thursday, November 17 (grades 6-8) and Friday, November 18 (grades LE-5).

All of these events only happen with the help of CFA parents volunteering their time. It helps to bring our families together and shows our children that we are truly dedicated to contributing to their educational environment. If you have any questions about the CFA Family Partnership or need information on how to volunteer, reach out to me or Mary Lyons Rouse, Assistant Director of Advancement for Family Partnership.

Thank you,
Jeff Sorbel
