The Cape Fear Academy strings program is an elective that meets two times a week. This class is primarily geared towards middle school students students, but if students in 4th or 5th grade and/or high school can come during class times, they may also participate.  Students must play violin, viola or cello and must be able to read music at an intermediate level or above. Individual practice outside of class is required and students must own their own instrument to participate. In addition to learning  musical repertoire written for string orchestra and string quartets, students will learn scales, music theory, note reading, technique and will give at least two performances per year.
