Four CFA Student Athletes Sign Collegiate Commitment Letters

Today was a great day as Cape Fear Academy hosted an athletic commitment signing for four members of the class of 2020—Caroline Crumrine, Lacey Kleppinger, Lilly Lancaster, and Connor Smith. All of these student athletes have attended Cape Fear Academy for at least 12 years.

Connor signed his athletic commitment letter to play Men’s Soccer for Davidson College of the Division I Atlantic 10 Conference. Connor is a two time NCISAA All-State and First Team All-Area player for Cape Fear Academy.

Lacey signed her athletic commitment to play Women’s Tennis for Belmont Abbey College of the Division II Conference Carolinas. Lacey was named the CRC Player of the Year this past season and is also a three-time all-conference performer, and helped her team to a state runner-up performance and two final four finishes.

Caroline signed her athletic commitment to play Women’s Golf for Furman University of the Division I Southern Conference. Caroline started the CFA Girls Golf program, has been named NCISAA All-State four times, and has been named Wilmington Area Player of the Year.

Lilly signed her athletic commitment to play Women’s Field Hockey for Wake Forest University of the Division I Atlantic Coast Conference. Lilly is a NCISAA All-State performer and only two CFA student-athletes have been named All-State in the program’s history. Lilly participated in the Junior Olympics in field hockey in the 2018 and was also named a Max Field Hockey Player to watch for Fall 2019.
