Middle School Honors Chorus Breaks CFA Records at NCMEA

On Nov. 10, Aurelia Colvin, Zachary Halna du Fretay, Cooper Herrett and Caroline Johnson made the final cut and participated in the North Carolina Music Educators Association (NCMEA) Middle School Honors Chorus in Winston-Salem. These exceptionally talented students were chosen from 860 other singers to join the prestigious 160-voice chorus consisting of the best middle school vocalists statewide. The chorus was directed by world-famous conductor Tom Shelton, who was also commissioned to write a song specifically for this group to premiere. All four of our students represented CFA proudly and performed in a final concert at The Stevens Center. Aurelia Colvin was honored at the beginning of the concert for her perfect audition score and she performed a solo in Shelton’s premiere of “Shady Grove.”
