I cannot believe that my first year at CFA is almost over. What I will miss most during the summer is starting each of my days by visiting classrooms and spending time with our students. That being said, I am looking forward to having some downtime to reflect on this year and begin planning for next year.
I hope that you will all be able to spend a lot of family time together. Both of my adult children are home for the summer and surprised me by showing up for the Circus performance this morning. This was another bittersweet reminder of how quickly time passes…it seems like just yesterday that I was in the audience watching my children’s kindergarten performances. It is so important for all of us to slow down this summer and soak in these fleeting moments with our children.
I know teachers have, or will, give you specific suggestions for summer work. I have also included the link for LS Summer Reading. I cannot stress enough how important it is for students to read and/or be read to daily, so find an awesome book to read together as a family.
While I will take some vacation time this summer, please know that I will be in the office most of the summer. If you have questions, concerns, or just want to stop in and chat, please feel free to do so.
Thank you again for such a wonderful first year. I look forward to restarting this blog series when the 2019-2020 school year rolls around in August!
