Theatre Department Wins State Awards

Congratulations to the CFA Theatre Department’s production of ‘Asylum’ in a successful NCTC State Play Festival in Greensboro, NC this past week!

‘Asylum’ won the regional round of the NCTC play festival in Charlotte October 31st / November 1st and proceeded to the State Play Festival this past week at Greensboro College to compete in the top 16 productions from 128 regional shows across the state!

Congratulations theatre students and their director, Ms. Jennifer Avery, as well as to Mr. Benedict Fancy and Ms. Cheryl Kanzinger who managed many other aspects of the performance:

     Barbizon Lighting Excellence in Student Design and Production Award – Scenic Design for ‘Asylum’ – TJ Carter

     Daniel Seaman Award for Outstanding Achievement in Ensemble Acting – Cast of ‘Asylum’ – Micah McDaniel, Samantha Melin, Clare Glenn, Camryn Kellogg, Wilker Ballantyne, Lily Zuckerman, Eric Kanzinger and Zach Tomosunas

     CC Lipscomb Award for Excellence in Directing – Ms. Jennifer Avery
