Upper School Vocal Ensemble to Compete in NC Music Educators Association Performance Adjudication

The success of the Upper School Vocal Ensemble this year has resulted in this talented group of 23 singers to be eligible to compete in the North Carolina Music Educators Association Solo-Small Ensemble Music Performance Adjudication in Morehead City on Monday, March 7th.  The ensemble will be judged on their performance.  This is an excellent opportunity for the ensemble to perform for a choral professional and achieve a higher level of musicianship thru the adjudicator’s comments.  Comments from the judges will be made on Tone/Vocal Production, Intonation, Diction, Technique and Interpretation.  All music must be memorized.

Performances this year will include the full Upper School Vocal Ensemble (singing a Spiritual “Climbin’ Up the Mountain” and Joseph Hayden “Gloria Canon” in Latin), Women’s Upper School Vocal Ensemble, Men’s Upper School Vocal Ensemble and several soloists.  All music performed must be classical (no pop or Broadway). New this year, we are honored to have student accompanists Michael Meeks on piano and Cecilia DeMoss on flute.
