Before departing for New York City, on Friday, Oct. 11, the Upper School Vocal Ensemble presented a preview of music they will perform at Carnegie Hall Monday, Oct. 14. The talented group of vocalists auditioned for the honor last year and was invited to participate in The National Fall Sing, where they will join two other choruses to perform six songs as the All-American Mass Choir.
The National Fall Sing will feature two choirs: an honor choir comprised of students from Cocoa High School, Port Jervis High School, Powderville High School and Cape Fear Academy under the direction of composer/conductor Greg Gilpin, and the New York City Bar Chorus under the direction of conductor Kathryn Schneider. Also participating will be two 9/11 survivors and guest speakers. This event will commemorate and honor those affected by the events of September 11, 2001.
